Tell us a little bit about yourself: Who are you, what do you do, and where are you located?
Jaspreet
Hello, I’m Jaspreet Singh from India. I am really passionate about a lot of things. I specialize in arch-viz. I started my official journey in 2011 at a 3D architecture studio in India. I had a diploma in animation and interior design, and now I work for my own company: Sun Sparkle CG Studio llp.

3dt: What was the workflow behind your latest gallery image? Where did the idea come from?
Jaspreet
Generally speaking, I am almost always aiming for something realistic. I like to make things that are different, so I search photos related to interior design on Google, then I share my references with my clients and check what our clients want. With final approval, I begin to work on them. I use 3ds Max for modeling and Corona and V-Ray for rendering.

Adam
3dt: What challenges did the image present? Did you learn something new?
Jaspreet
With my latest image, my clients wanted a realistic and warm look. So I tested with Corona Sun and Sky; the output was good but it wasn’t very attractive. Then I decided to purchase Peter Guthrie Sky (1714). This was fantastic and worked great on the output. I faced problems with the night scenes; a blue environment within the interior, which I had to balance with IES (4500 temperature). When I sent our first draft render the client was really happy. I learned lots of techniques for making materials.

Adam
3dt: Do you use any other software, either for work or personal projects?
Jaspreet
I am working with Substance Designer, Mavelous Designer, Boujou, and Quixel Mixture. I had worked with ZBrush when I was in my college and I want to try using this again in my future projects, utilizing all these software together.

I recommend setting aside two days of the week where we can forget client work for a while, and focus those days on the development of our personal projects
Adam
3dt: How do you keep your portfolio up-to-date? Any tips?
Jaspreet
It is really hard to make time for a personal portfolio due to client projects, but it is really worth doing one every now and then, to help keep motivated. There is always a huge difference in quality and creativity when we do personal projects, where we do everything as we like and with time. I recommend setting aside two days of the week where we can forget client work for a while, and focus those days on the development of our personal projects.

Adam
3dt: Are you a member of any social media groups? Any favorite hashtags you check on a daily basis?
Jaspreet
Sun Sparkle CG Studio is on Facebook along with Corona Renderer India; social media groups I have created. VWartclub, Ronen Bekerman's arch-viz group, and 3D imparatorlugu CG artzone are all groups I check out on a daily basis for knowledge and updates.

Adam
3dt: How important is the recognition of your peers?
Jaspreet
Yes, the recognition of my peers is really important because when I share my work on social sites, they see that work and give comments; either its looks good or not. It’s better for us to then give more attention to that work. If I have a problem in my project then I will ask my peers – they will definitely give suggestions.
Adam
3dt: What are your artistic ambitions?
Jaspreet
I have already opened my company, so I want to take it to the next level for all countries. Also I want to add to the reputation of Indian work. As well as this, I give classes to students in India who want to learn how to create good quality work.

Adam
3dt: Who are your favorite artists, traditional or digital, and can you explain why?
Jaspreet
I am a really big fan of Peter Guthrie (the boundary), MIR, Santi Sanchez (Tresde Archviz Studio) and Bertrand Benoit. I see their work on a regular basis. I’m especially motivated by Marek Denko; his projects are fully detailed projects and look like photographs.

Adam
3dt: What can we expect to see from you next?
Jaspreet
I have some projects in my mind, which will be started soon. Now I am doing marketing for my company and I want to take my company higher, and I wish I have to appoint some new employees. So, we will all work together for our company.
