Creating a Jedi Game Character

I decided to create a relatively simple video game character and record the whole process as part of a course I teach about characters for games. The character I chose was a female Togruta Jedi Master, inspired by Shaak Ti. The character took 23 hours to create, which I've compressed to 25 minutes of video. For a shorter 6 minute version, go here: https://youtu.be/N-bBYscPnJk

The final character is around 13,000 triangles, using one Diffuse, Specular, Normal and Gloss map. I created the character to work in Unreal Engine (UDK) and presented her using Marmoset Toolbag's render. She was designed with today's games in mind, so something that can run in your average game engine used for most PS3 or Xbox 360 games.

My knowledge comes from working in the games industry for several years where I have created hundreds of characters for various AAA games, including the Hitman series. There are lots more tutorials and work on my website: http://www.characterink.com/
