Tell us a little bit about yourself: Who are you, what do you do, and where are you located?

Parisa

My name is Parisa Panahi, and I’m 33 years old. Currently, I live in Iran. I have a Master of Architecture degree. Since becoming familiar with 3ds Max at university I started working with it seriously. I have been designing exteriors and interiors, and making 3D models for around 10 years. Recently I started working as a freelancer.

What was the workflow behind your latest gallery image? Where did the idea come from?

Parisa

As my client asked me to design a modern place, I decided to create an open space to provide a nice view, brightness, and a connection to other parts of house without a wall. I needed something to make the connection between the floors and something to separate the TV room from the living room, so I designed a vertical fireplace with a cozy area to sit beside the fire. Additionally, the kitchen had to be functional and decorative, so after providing enough cabinets, I designed an open table with a cabinet to be functional, and for contrast I used grey and white colors.

What challenges did the image present? Did you learn something new?

Parisa

Lighting the scene and choosing appropriate materials was so important for realism, so it took time to become matched and acceptable. To me each scene has something different and new; in this project working with lights for having day and night views was new.

Do you use any other software, either for work or personal projects?

Parisa

Except for 3ds Max, the Corona plugin, V-Ray plugin, Photoshop, and Autocad that I have been using for many years, I also work with Lumion, Revit, and Substance Painter too – it depends on my need and I have a plan to learn other software.

How do you keep your portfolio up-to-date? Any tips?

Parisa

By designing something new and making 3D models of them, and visiting some professional websites for CG artists and architects, in order to get inspired by seeing new works. This is how I try to keep my portfolio up-to-date.

Who are your favorite artists, traditional or digital, and can you explain why? What can we expect to see from you next?

Parisa

My favorite 3D artists are Marek Denko, Mohammadreza Mohseni, and Hossein Diba. Honesty, their works attract me so much. Marek Denko is one of the greatest CG artists and Mohammadreza Mohseni is my husband, and he is really expert in 3ds Max and writing different scripts. He is teaching Corona, V-Ray, modeling, and so on. About Hossein Diba, when I saw his work I became eager to learn ZBrush, he is really talented. As for what’s next – new designs and new interior and exterior 3D models.
