What was the workflow behind your latest gallery image? Where did the idea come from?

Technically it’s a simple character development workflow. I used ZBrush to block the shape, all proportions and posing, 3ds Max to build the scene, V-Ray to render, and Photoshop for post-production. But initially the idea of this art came from my love for Pabllo Vittar, a famous Brazilian drag queen singer. I was inspired after watching her music vídeo “Problema seu”. In the video she acts as a spy, and I basically loved her costumes and action. So I decided to make this fanart for fun. Wouldn’t it be great if she became a game character? I definitely would play!

What challenges did the image present? Did you learn something new?

I think that the biggest challenge of this image was trying to interpret Pabllo Vittar’s features to a 3D cartoon model, and then make a pose that could show her personality to make people recognize who she was.

How important is the recognition of your peers?

I usually show my personal art to my friends at work or even out of CGI, and for me it’s very important listening to their tips and hints about the art. Also the other artists always have something to add and enrich your work. You just need to listen and select the suggestions, because this is also part of the process.

Who are your favorite artists, traditional or digital, and can you explain why?

In digital arts, fun, cute and colorful works always have my heart. Artists like Stephlew, Gop Gap, Carlos Ortega, Pernille Orum, James Claridades, Pedro Conti, Nathalia Freitas, Sam Nassour, Vitorugo, Anna Cattish, Vincent Dromart, Patri Balanovsky and many others. But the inspiration can also come from other places or people.

What are your artistic ambitions and what can we expect to see from you next?

I love to create characters that communicate something. It would be awesome if I could work more with that in the movie or game industry. But coming up, I’ll have more personal projects, with my original concepts, besides continuing to adapt concepts from other artists that I admire.
