Tell us a little bit about yourself: Who are you, what do you do, and where are you located?

Lokil

Hello, I live in Seoul, Korea, and my name is Lokil Do and I am 34 years old. I use ZBrush and 3ds Max and I currently work for a mobile game project company. I love all the art work, including realistic character/styling character/hardsurface/all-organized creature modeling, and enjoy it!

What was the workflow behind your latest gallery image? Where did the idea come from?

Lokil

I loved the art style of Riot Games' League of Legends game, so I did my personal work: more than 80% of the modeling process was done in ZBrush, and the texturing lookdev uses Substance and Mari. 3ds Max's V-Ray was used for rendering and After Effects was used for final modifications.

What challenges did the image present? Did you learn something new?

Lokil

I wanted to make a cute casual character at least once, and this seemed to be the chance. In my work, I wanted to organize various material expressions, illustrated compositions, and event scene scenes, and I still needed a lot of challenging spirit in this area. Fortunately, I would like to give a lot of significance to the finish.

Do you use any other software, either for work or personal projects?

Lokil

I am working on a mobile game company project, and the company uses Unreal 4 as the main engine. Except for the engine, the other tools are the same, but the work is mostly stylizing characters, so it seems that the real one is mostly taken in personal work.

Who are your favorite artists, traditional or digital, and can you explain why?

Lokil

My favorite artist is Alessandro Baldasseroni. His art style is so good, and he shows high quality in many ways such as modeling, texture, and rendering. I also like Rafael Grassetti and James Ku.

What can we expect to see from you next?

Lokil

Next time, I'm going to work on a sturdy male character, and I'm looking for a warrior concept with a macho feeling. I haven't started yet, but I'm going to proceed gradually.
