So I decided to use the great metahumans tool to create a short film. And this is the teaser I did to test the pipeline and to use Unreal in something more robust for the first time. So the base model and textures of the character, as well as the rig, are metahumans. All the rest I created by myself. This was a long study but I managed to learn a lot of the process and of Unreal. I have more stuff on the car in another ealier post I did as well.
The pipeline for the character was: With the references in hand I would do a blockout of the clothes and then go to Marvelous. Once I'm happy I would go to zbrush for the tertiary forms. Then I would retopo and bake the high to low poly maps. Then, texture it in Painter. With the clothes ready I rig the clothes to the rigged metahuman body and animate. Then I would send the animated mesh as well as textures to Unreal, light it and render.
