We did this image for a pest control product for BASF, through e21 agency. We needed to depict the mesmerized rats as cartoon characters but without the cuteness usually associated with them. We researched for lots of references, including rats' skin textures, concrete walls, etc., an essential part of any realistic finish. There was a special treatment to their furs, as it was extremely important for the expression and individuality of the rats. The tutorial of this image is featured at 3D World magazine issue 167 and this illustration won 2 awards at an advertising festival in Brazil.
