I was doing some thumbnails and found the shape of a bone monkey in one of the random strokes. So I scanned that and then did a tonal painting in photoshop. Then a quick color overlay and then ported that into painter. One of the insperations for this was my faint memory of the movie kongo. You can't go wrong with a bunch of crazy apes as my dog used to say.
