Staff pick contest January 2019

A real medley of character and environment concepts formed the staff picks gallery in January, and guest judge Maarten Verhoeven really had his work cut out to narrow it down to one winner.
Winning entry - Coraline inspired 3D Portrait

The winning image is Coraline, a 3D portrait of Reese Witherspoon, created by model supervisor at ILM, Marko Chulev. Inspired by Laika's exhibition in Portland, Marko wanted to create a realistic adult version of Coraline, and settled on Reese's likeness.
It is my honor to be selected for a Staff Pick winner for the month of January. What a surprise to be picked from such a great pull of talent and artwork. Thank you!
Marko's prize box this month included:
- Sketching from the Imagination: Characters
- Digital Painting Techniques: Volume 8
- Digital Painting Techniques: Volume 7
- Animal anatomy figures - Equine, Canine, and Feline
- Sketchbook
- A special winners badge for their artwork and profile page
- The winning image used for the Learn | Create | Share banner at the top of the homepage
